Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the possibility of treatment of liver cirrhosis with traditional Korean medical treatment.
Methods: A 57-year-old man diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma and liver cirrhosis was admitted to Wonkwang University Oriental Medical Hospital in August 2014. He underwent liver lobectomy and later experienced abdominal pain, anorexia, and insomnia. To control cirrhotic ascites and prevent relapses, he opted to receive HangAmDan-B (HAD-B) and cultivated wild ginseng herbal acupuncture therapy.
Results: After treatment, the volume of ascites decreased and the patient&¡¯s symptoms such as abdominal pain and anorexia improved.
Conclusions: This report suggests that HAD-B and cultivated wild ginseng herbal acupuncture therapy may play a therapeutic role in liver cirrhosis occurring after liver lobectomy.
